Goshindo - A short introduction

Goshindo is a modern combat sport, which emphasize the switching between distances. The sport has a wide range of techniques that includes punching, kicking, takedowns and ground fighting. All techniques and drills aim at mastering the switching of distance. The basic techniques and training methods are directly imported from wrestling, boxing, thaiboxing and judo. It would be unwise to try to develop these again.

The sport is for anyone that wants to work out, exercise or learn self-defense.

Exercise - Goshindo is a superb way of exercising. As a fact a major part of the practiser are doing it just because of the exercise. It will strengthen your muscles and physical condition, increase your flexibility and apprehension of your body.

Sports - For those who like are Goshindo a competition sport. Goshindo Sweden arrange everything from small local contests, own national contests to international fight events. The most important element of a fight is the switching of distance and that is what is emphasized in competitions and not knock outs.

Self-defense - The training gives the practiser a good experience in handling all kinds of different hand-to-hand combat situations. That makes Goshindo a good way of learning how to defend our self.

Positive way of training
We put a lot of effort on having a positive way of training within Goshindo. We have a nice atmosphere and it is really fun to train. Our way of training is built on a healthy attitude and respect of each other, this permeate all our activities.

Nobody is too old for Goshindo
The average age in most of our groups is between 25-30 years. But even we who have passed the age of 40 have a lot of training friends of equivalent age within the sport. The only limitation to become a practiser is down wards - e.g. minimum age is 15 years.
